Every year, JCN Bolig presents the JCN Bolig Award at Aarhus University’s Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.

JCN Bolig Award 2022 JCN Bolig Award 2022

The award is given at Aarhus University’s Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.

Every year, JCN Bolig presents the JCN Bolig Award at Aarhus University’s Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.

There are two awards: for the best bachelor project (bachelor of engineer, BSc) and the best master’s project (Civil engineer MSc).

The award focuses on the following criteria:

• The project must have a clear structure and the results are clearly shown

• There must be excellent professional competence and the problem definition is clearly made

• The project reflects excellent collaboration as a group and with external stakeholders

• The project clearly demonstrates engagement in the task solution

Flemming Rasmussen, CEO at JCN Bolig, attended the graduation event and told the students a little about JCN Bolig and why the two JCN Bolig Award winners were chosen.

Civil Engineer Master of Science Project

The wining project is about how we as turnkey contractors work on a day-to-day basis, i.e. the optimisation of the residents’ daylight experience in the apartment and an analysis of the relation between the daylight measurements and how you optimise the housing construction.

The winning project was devised by Cathrine Schermer Riis and Amalie Dokkedal Jensen and they had excellently combined qualitative and quantitative methods that building designers use in the early design phases of an apartment.

The project has created new knowledge and describes the relationship between the resident’s satisfaction with daylight and the different measurements for the calculated light conditions.

Their daylight calculations can now be used to create apartments with even greater quality rather than just documenting the minimum requirements.

Congratulations to Cathrine and Amalie on winning the JCN Bolig Award for the best master of science education programme project.

Bachelor of architectural engineering

The winning project deals with environmental and architectural benefits from renovation rather than the demolition and new building of detached houses.

The project demonstrated a very convincing and engaged solution of the subject in relation to climate goals. Through their project the students have achieved deep insight into sustainability-oriented project design and building practice.

The task is solved by the extended use of sustainability and LCA calculations and the results are very attractively presented.

Congratulations to Pernille Vestervang Nygaard, Ida Marie Hagen Fur and Liv-Luisa Neuner for the best bachelor project.
