Student housing
The main contract was won after a pre-qualification round. The contract was for the building of student apartments for Kollegiekontoret (non-profit housing organisation) in Aarhus. Three 6-storey apartment blocks were built on Søren Frichsvej and Åbyvej, a total of 202 one and two-room apartments, 22 m2 and 36 m2 respectively. The total area is 8,374 m2 with associated underground car park.
The project has been devised with the intention of using prefabricated construction, at the same time the buildings are of a high quality with an attractive architectural look. Prefabricated bathroom units, stairways and concrete elements were used.
The project is part of the overall Åbyen project, built on the former road haulage centre where JCN Bolig is building a total of 830 homes.
